Permission to create

Personal or small-group guidance in intuitive painting: you make with your hands, and nobody grades it. No experience needed, nothing to prove. What comes out stays yours.

One-on-one or small group · At my studio in the Pardes Hanna area

Who it’s for

For anyone who wants to make and feel, not perform.

Makers whose work swallowed their making, founders who think in pictures, and anyone who hasn’t painted since childhood and still misses it. There’s no entry level here, there’s paper and paint.

You can come with a clear goal, an open question, or something you want to end up with, and you can come with no goal at all, just to express and let go. Both are equally valid, and we decide on the direction together in the first call.

What happens in a session

You come in without knowing how to paint, and leave with something that wasn’t there before.

Set down the need to get it right

We start by setting down the need to get it right. A few minutes of breathing and settling in, then paper, paint, and permission to begin.

Follow the hand

I guide you to make marks without a plan, following color and impulse. When the critic shows up, we keep going anyway.

Look at what came out

We look at what you made with a good eye, sometimes with a few written words, and notice what was waiting to be seen.

I think in lines, shapes, and marks, before words.

I’m Merav Shaked, always an artist and a designer for about 15 years, fluent in visual language. Most of those years I created for clients, from behind a screen. Today I create mainly for myself, and guide processes of creative release through painting, writing, and reconnecting to an inner creative voice.

In client work there was never room to fail, to waste, to stop and say “I don’t know”. Here I let myself do all of it: no brief, no approval, no idea where it would land. That permission is what I bring into the room.

Halfway through, I reached a moment I really loved. Stop with the good shot, or keep going. I kept going. It wasn’t destruction, it was trust.

One of the stories

Liron Amram went through the process with me, and something opened up.

A lawyer, a product manager and an entrepreneur. Not a trained artist, but a maker at heart. She gave herself permission to let go, get messy, and create for the joy of it. Since then we’re also partners in a venture that grew out of it, and that’s another story.

Intuitive painting is the same agreement, made small and repeatable. An invitation to see with a good eye everything that’s there: the love, the freedom, the doubts, the mess, the mistakes. And to create from there.
