We were asked to meet. I built us a board.
A bingo board of meetings that fills in only when both people tap "We met".
I used the last of my credits for the week, and it turned into a gift for my group.
2026. For the "Sha'ar La'esek" group (Gate to Business), part of the MATAR program at Mekafetza, Pardes Hanna Karkur.
The people on this board are made up. The real one is open only to the group.

A WhatsApp group can't tell you who has already met
There are about sixteen of us, all running our own small businesses, in the MATAR program at Mekafetza. I'm one of them. After one of the sessions, the facilitator posted in our WhatsApp group and invited everyone to set up half an hour with each other. Get to know each other, and who knows, maybe work together. Someone in the group had suggested it even before.
The thing is, WhatsApp gives you no way to see who has already met whom. So I built us a board. I started on a Thursday, and on Friday the link was already in the group. The board itself has no AI and no monthly bill. It's a gift, and it works for all of us.

The message I sent the group. A name is blurred.
One tap never fills a square
You get in from the link in the group, with a phone number that's on the list. Then a short profile called "Nice to meet you": the business, one sentence, what people can come to me for, and what would help me right now.
The board has a square for everyone in the group, and it fills in only when both people have tapped "We met". There's a league too, and it shows the top three and where I stand. Never who's last.
Meetings get set inside the board. WhatsApp stays an option.
On someone's card, I suggest up to three times from a single week, Sunday to Friday, with an arrow to the next week. I pick in person or by phone, and the invite also goes out on WhatsApp, as a ready message with a link back to the board.
The other person picks a time and adds it to their calendar, and a "Set" stamp lands on the card. After the meeting each of us taps "We met", and only then does the square fill. Nobody's phone number is ever shown.
Every fix started with something that actually happened
On Sunday I opened the group overview, and next to a lot of names it said "Not in yet". So I made the form shorter.
On Monday a friend sent me an invite, we chatted on WhatsApp and set a time, and there was nowhere to record it. That same day the card got "Already set it on WhatsApp? Add the time". And on Tuesday every message that goes out to WhatsApp got a link back to the board, because I want as much of the conversation as possible to come back there.
A whole app, for one group
This is an era that makes it possible: on the last of a week's credits and within a few days, a whole app for one group. It's made for us: our name, our pace, our WhatsApp, and a logo with a spring, a wink at Mekafetza (it means springboard). Inside, everyone gets their own board, league, card and link. To me, that's a new level of user experience.
The welcome screens went through a few rounds too. They were missing the feeling of people actually talking, so they got soft pop art illustrations: ink lines, hard shadows, halftone dots and speech bubbles. Then it came out a bit too loud, and too pink, so I toned it down.
A new group is one line
I packed what I built for us so another group can get a board of its own. A name, a line about the organization, a logo, a color and a link to the WhatsApp group. That's it. Hebrew only, for now.
The sample board is open. The people on it are made up, and the squares are waiting.
