A bilingual trivia game: can you tell the difference between real bizarre news and stories that never happened?
We're living in an era where AI can generate convincing news stories in seconds, and real headlines read like satire. The question became: can people actually tell the difference?
"Happened or Not?" is a fast-paced trivia game where players see a headline and decide: did this actually happen, or is it AI-generated? The game uses real bizarre news alongside AI-fabricated stories, and the gap between them is smaller than you'd think.
"Build a bilingual fact-checking game where players guess whether a bizarre news headline is real or AI-fabricated. Timer, scoring, 5 questions per round, Hebrew and English support."
The whole product was designed and built inside Lovable, starting from a single prompt. The game logic, UI, bilingual support, scoring system, and question database all emerged through an iterative back-and-forth with the AI.
What made this interesting: the design decisions were part of the conversation. Dark, tense UI to match the mood. Swipe-style answers. A countdown timer that adds pressure. Each choice reinforced the feeling that something real was at stake.
The content itself is the hardest part: real headlines that sound fake, and fake ones that sound plausible. Curated by Merav to keep the gap just narrow enough to make every round feel uncertain.
From prompt to playable in one session.
Free. Bilingual. Addictive.
